If By Yes*

Okay I *was* feeling a bit better this morning, despite all the coughing and shit, BUT when I came home after we took a nice lil walk in the rain through the park, I got this horrible cramp in me right leg and since then I'm not able to walk anymore :/ Horrible, I don't wish this for my worst enemy!
Anyway, today I'm presenting you some lucky thrift finds of late! First, the huge knit cardigan, so nice and warm, perfect also as a jacket as I wore it today, because it wasn't really cold outside... it's so perfect and cost me only a couple of €!
Second, the plaid patterned harem pants! Woah, how I love these pants! But originally they were no harem pants, they were just ordinary second hand worn out women's pants, straight leg. I took them, cut them into pieces, changed the shape and, tadaaaa, after widening the upper leg part and narrowing the lower legs, I have my perfect spring pants! Gotta love em - all selfmade :)

[Outfit today: beige knit-cardi: local thrift store, black cardi: H&M, black plaid harem pants: selfmade/thrift, belt: some christmas leftover present wrapping, heels: Topshop, wool hat: H&M]

*= If By Yes is an awesome project by Yuka Honda and Petra Hayden that I totally adore at the moment. If you can find it somehow and like Yuka's music anyway, go have a listen!
Talking about Yuka, this is me imitating Yuka's friend Sean.. hihi... it's obvious, eh? :)

Sorbet

Well it's obvious that sorbet colours are pretty big for SS 09 - but also because I'm really keen on finding one or two perfect pieces in peach or plum for the summer, I sat down today, trying to avoid the fact that I got some homework for uni to do soon, and made some drawings of what I'd like to sew if I had the possibilities (which, alas, I don't!) So please, seamstresses of the world, anyone wanting to do me a favour? ;)

PS.: Thanks for all your get-well-wishes, I'm already a bit better and if it's not raining or snowing tomorrow I might be able to show you some outfits again...

What am I to do

Today I got really depressed because I still couldn't go outside because of my sickness, didn't even make it to see my doctor! But that was because of other issues, anyway... to kinda cheer me up again, I gave myself a little tattoo extension on my right lower leg. For quite some time already I wanted to tattoo this kinda leopard pattern around my other tattoo parts but didn't do it yet. So today I kinda thought it was time and I did the first half of it. It was really easy and turned out quite nice to me, so yeah... I'm a bit better now.
Sorry for the lack of outfit posts at the moment, once I get better, there will be a lot to show you! I made quite some amazing finds in the second-hand shop lately! And also still some DIY-ing to show, too... ahhhh, if only I weren't sick!

Oh my god what crappy photos... je suis desolée!

PS.: Maki, the little something next to the roses is for you <3

Professional Distortion

My Steve Madden platforms arrived yesterday and they're oh so comfortable with their soft white leather and wooden heel! I was wearing them out shopping today for many many hours and only felt some general tiredness of my legs afterwards :) Very nice... although I got quite some weird looks from other people. I can't wait to move outta Hannover as soon as I can, to a bigger and more fashionable city! What's so special about white gladiator heels that everyone has to stare? :D Anyway, twas quite enjoyable, haha!
I didn't buy anything for me today, although I found a most gorgeous coat at H&M which I'm pretty sure I'll buy when new money comes in next week! I'm in love...

PS: No comments against the fur, please ;) It's vintage from my grandmother and should I throw away a rabbit-fur that was being made in 1946 just because rabbits are among my fave animals? :) Better stay warm with this shitty weather outside...

Maybe Tomorrow...

Dear, it's snowing like mad outside! Where's spring when one needs it??

Today another illustrated outfit post - dearly hoping I'll be able to take some nice walks outside again soon and also to take more pics again! But this weather is just crappy, and all this layering is so boring to me by now! Can't wait for the day to go outside just wearing one layer of clothing, or some fun flattery things on top of each other - but without a coat, scarf and gloves, please!!!

Today the kittin is wearing: Black long sleeve cardi + grey oversized sleeveless cardi + studded belt + black satin wedges + suede leather bag: H&M, beige satin dress: selfmade, grey tights: Zara

Featurette

Since I'm lazy I'll put some feature updates all in one post haha...

First of all, the lovely Miss James from Bleubird Vintage asked me to do an interview for her Blog which of course I was more than happy to do. It was posted yesterday, so if you're interested, you only have to scroll down one post on their blog :D And also check out their vintage pieces in the shop and on their ebay, they're amazing!

Secondly, I'm one of the WHOWHATWEAR.COM Myspace Muses for February, which totally excited me when they contacted me since I love reading their website so much! If you don't know them, DO check WhoWhatWear out as well!!! The other Myspace Muses are more than wonderful!!

And - a bit funny or not - I'm one of the "Street Stylistas" of the month march in a German girl fashion kinda mag called "Young". This is mainly funny cos I got told by some people I hardly knew like from Hannover "Hey, I think I saw you in the Young magazine"... oh haha, strange new world!

Walk this way

Today I was being asked my my colleague again how I can possibly walk on those heels of mine - I never know what to answer, haha. She's the kinda sneakers girl of course, but it's so cute how I get those admiring stares of hers watching me walk up and down and up the stairs again all day long. She was the one that gave me her leather boots because she said she couldn't walk on a 5cm heel, hihi.

My sister is busy working on some photography projects at the moment and since I'm not able to take pics by myself, I decided to change the way to post my outfits. I'm drawing + photoshopping them :) Hope you enjoy my first self drawn look, hehe...

Legs in bloom Pt.2

This is part two of the floral print tights, part three will follow soon cos I got me another pair of flower print leggins from Topshop lately! It's just wonderful, I'm so in love with anything colourful and blooming on my legs. Especially when it's -2 degrees and snowing outside. It really happens to lighten up my spirits a little bit :)

Eccola! Selfmade in satin

Ok, I'm just throwing this in quickly before going back to my studies!!
I guess no need to post the picture of the inspirational piece from MakiMaki again? Ok!

What I used: 80 cm of coral coloured satin/cotton mix, 20 cm of black satin/cotton mix, 2 m of satin ribbon + thread and my sewing machine
What it cost: all together I payed €23 on fabrics
What I changed: I made it more look like a Kimono than a normal teeshirt, partly beause I prefer it like that, but also because the fabric was basically begging me to make it look like that! I also sewed on real satin ribbons instead of stitched-on-ones, because I wanted it to be a bit more sophisticated and also more 3D and shit like that. Third, I made the black part a bit wider because the width of the sleeves was kinda asking for it, too!
What I kept: The colour of course, and the three ribbons, the middle bar and the altogether idea of the dress/shirt.

And now, here it is! One of my best quality dresses so far, I really gave an effort on it :) Can't wait to wear it out in spring/summer.

Lift your skinny fists like antennaes to heaven

As you might've noticed - I like hats. Brown, black, khaki, blue, top hats, bowler hats, gentlemen hats... it's all perfect as long as my freezing head is being protected!
I also like boots... for a long time I wanted to spice up my Zara ankle platform boots with something studded, until I found a couple of belts for sale on H&M the other day! I tried to wrap them around my booties while being in the store, they fitted and looked rad on them, so I bought two for €5 each, and now I'm happy cos I have such cool shoes!! No need to buy a new pair, the old ones almost feel like new ones now they look so disco!

PS: I *will* post pics of the selfmade dress later - either tonight or tomorrow!! Promise!

PPS: BUNNY, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY AGAIN!!! I LOVE YOU LIKE NO OTHER!!

[hat: C&A, scarf: second hand, sequin knit jumper + jeans shorts: Topshop, ankle boots: ZARA, studded belts on the boots: H&M, leather bag: 70s vintage via ebay]

Tomorrow I'll get fabric!!!

Wiii, hihi, the bunny is happy cos mom just told me she'll finance my wish to buy a dark navy and a coral coloured jersey fabric tomorrow as well as some satin ribbon to sew me a dress inspired by a teeshirt kinda dress thing I discovered on makimaki vintage lately :)
At least one day of the weekend will be spent sitting at the sewing machine then! Fun fun...

Beggar's Opera

The tattooing today went awesome, I love the result of it and so did my patient patient! We sat for four full hours to see it finished but I had so much fun again! It turned out to be black and white in the end by the way :)

Just took some low fi inside pictures today cos rain and snow and lack of time before going to work don't allow me to take pics at more fashionable spots during weekdays!
Anyway, this is what I wore today. +Loving my new H&M sandals+

[Bowler-hat: ebay, oversize knit-jumper + rubber-belt: second hand, gloves: from my mom, lace-leggins + cream heel sandals: H&M, necklaces: vintage]

Fail is not in the question

No fashion-related post today, although in some way tattoos are quite a fashion statement as well - and have always been! Or is it more a statement of social belonging? Anyway, I must say only fashion blogging and buying shoes isn't interesting enough for me! So I'll show you what I'll be busy doing tomorrow night after work: I'll tattoo my cute colleague. We've been thinking long and hard on what exactly is she gonna get - and we finally decided on giving her a fairy-like figure but in a art nouveau kind of style.
Hopefully it'll turn out as I want it to be :) I'm soooo excited doing this! And to get me some more theory, I'll give myself a treat tonight with at least one or two LA Ink episodes, hahah.

This is my sketch... already coloured, although were not sure yet if she wants it coloured or black and grey!

I lost my mind in a sunbeam moment

We took a sweet walk along the beautiful riverside near my home today because the sun decided to come out for a bit! We were so lucky though, not ten minutes after we had returned home, it started snowing and raining again! Chose the right moment I guess!

Been wearing some items I had - again - almost forgot about. The red velvet Sgt. Pepper jacket is from H&M two years ago, the shoes I bought in Italy in 2007 as well and the ZARA dress I got shortly before last christmas. Beautiful items though, I should give them my attention more often.
The bow on my head I made from a leftover of my blue sequin leggins.

Folklore

I remember long time ago I posted pictures of this dress on myspace - it must've been about 3 years ago.... during that summer, I loved wearing it and feeling free like a young hippie. Today I was tidying up my closet just a bit when I recognized a well known pattern. Happy to have remembered my old second-hand shop dress, I decided to immediately wear it again, despite the cold winter weather! But oh, it brings back warm summer afternoon's memories! Combined with a velvet corsage and a wool cardigan, it was even bearable to wear without turning into a human ice cube. (Of course I was still wearing my coat!)

[Le styling du jour: patterned cotton dress: second hand shop "Kleidermarkt", velvet corsage: second hand, western leather belt: second hand customised, wool-cardi, tights, headband: H&M, fringed and studded suede ankle boots: Primark, necklace: from my mom]
