For this reason, I wanted to show you how this uber cool and honestly really huge company works to make you all the happiest customers on earth, hehe!

Heute nehmen wir euch mit und gewähren euch einen Blick hinter die Kulissen des vielleicht größten Online-Shopping-Stores ASOS! Ihr habt sicher alle schon oft dort geshoppt, die großartigen Suchfunktionen in Anspruch genommen, die sehr guten Größentabellen genutzt und euch über die versandkostenfreien weltweiten Lieferungen gefreut. Ich kann nur für mich selbst sagen, dass ich es liebe, bei ASOS zu shoppen! Deshalb möchte ich euch heute einmal mitnehmen und euch zeigen, wie diese tolle, aber echt riesige Firma eigentlich arbeitet, damit ihr die glücklichsten Kundinnen der Welt werdet, hehe!

Welcome to the first studio! The full-body shots of all the looks you can find on the ASOS website are being styled and shot here. One of the many incredibly tall and beautiful models was currently shooting for River Island when we visited this studio. And in case she ran out of poses during the shoot, they had whole collages of possible model-poses pinned to the wall! So funny!
Willkommen im ersten Studio! Die Ganzkörper-Shots aller Looks, die ihr auf der ASOS-Website finden könnt, werden hier gestyled und fotografiert. Eines der vielen unfassbar großen und schönen Models war gerade dabei, für River Island zu posen, als wir das Studio besuchten. Und falls sie während des Shootings einmal keine Pose mehr wissen sollte, gibt es an der Wand ganze Collagen von möglichen Modelposen zum Nachmachen - so lustig!
Afterwards, we went to the runway-studio. One of the special options the ASOS-website is offering its customers is the runway-option. You have the chance to see the item you are about to buy in action, see how the material moves when being worn and how it reflects the light. The runway-videos are being shot one after the other, no pauses, no second chances. You walk out there, move up to the front, walk back and already, the next model is ready to walk. Probably not a job for me, I should say!
The men on the other hand only have to move around 360° and not walk the runway. Lucky them! There were some pretty ones among them, too, by the way (just saying this to make you all jealous!).
Danach wurden wir zum Runway-Studio geführt. Eine Besonderheit der ASOS-Website ist es, den Kundinnen die Runway-Option zu bieten. Ihr habt dort die Möglichkeit, das Kleidungsstück, das ihr kaufen möchtet, erst einmal in Action zu betrachten. Ihr seht besser, wie sich das Material bewegt und wie es das Licht reflektiert. Die Runway-Videos werden in einer unheimlichen Schnelle aufgenommen, einer nach dem anderen und es gibt normalerweise keinen zweiten Versuch. Kein Job für mich, denke ich!
Die Männer haben es da schon besser, denn sie müssen sich nur 360° drehen und nicht den Runway laufen. Es gab übrigens schon einige sehr hübsche Männermodels (das sage ich natürlich nur, um euch neidisch zu machen!).
The studio for small items (hats, bags, gloves and jewelry) was up next. The most interesting thing in this studio was a machine that made it possible to take 360° pictures of small items while they were circling on a round, illuminated plate. In this way, you can see an item on the website from all possible angles. It makes it much easier to imagine what you are going to buy! For a shop that offers no store where customers can touch and look at the items first before buying them, these kind of tricks are absolutely necessary in my opinion.
Als nächstes folgte das Studio für kleine Dinge (wie Hüte, Taschen, Handschuhe und Schmuck). Das interessanteste Gerät in diesem Studio war eine von unten beleuchtete, sich drehende Platte, die es möglich macht, dem Kunden eine 360° Ansicht eines kleinen Gegenstandes zu bieten. So kann man sich sehr viel besser vorstellen, was man sich da eigentlich gerade kauften möchte. Ein Online-Shop, der kein Geschäft hat, wo man sich die Kleidungsstücke und Accessoires erst einmal anschauen und anfassen kann, bevor man sie kauft, muss sich dringend solcher Hilfsmittel bedienen, denke ich.
Moodboards, fabric samples and all kinds of ideas could be seen all over the place. I was amazed by all the inspiration these boards were offering and it made me want to start making my own moodboards again as well. So very creative and even more inspiring! This would definitely be a working-atmosphere that would trigger my own ideas as well! Whoa!
Moodboards, Stoffbeispiele und allerlei andere Ideen flatterten nur so durch die Räume. Ich war absolut begeistert von all den Inspirationen, die diese Boards mir eröffneten und plötzlich möchte ich auch wieder ganz viele Moodboards basteln. So kreativ und noch viel inspirierender! Dieses wäre sicher eine Arbeitsatmosphäre, die auch meine Ideen nur so sprudeln ließe! Whoa!
And finally, we went to the large design hall where all kinds of samples were being designed (obviously), thought-up, stored or altered. Different small teams were working on different kinds of garments, for example a small team would work only on women's evening dresses, on women's jackets or on women's heels. It was amazing how everybody had a very small area of work to him or herself. But only like this, such a big company is able to work. And everybody was working with great motivation on their tasks. I loved walking through this room that reminded me so much of a big vintage store. There was so much to discover at this place!

Am Schluss landeten wir dann in der großen Design-Halle, wo allerlei Samples designt (ach, was!), erdacht, aufbewahrt und verändert wurden. Verschiedene kleine Teams arbeiteten an verschiedenen Kleidungsstück-Gruppen, also zum Beispiel nur an Abendkleidern, Damenjacken oder Damenheels. Es war interessant zu erfahren, dass jeder einzelne mehr oder weniger allein für einen bestimmten Bereich zuständig und verantwortlich ist. Aber nur so kann ein so großer Laden erfolgreich laufen! Und wirklich jeder schien hoch motiviert bei der Arbeit zu sein. Ich fand es großartig, durch diesen riesigen Raum zu gehen. Es wirkte dort fast wie in einem großen Vintage-Laden. Es gab so viel zu entdecken!
