Last Sunday, we visited the Berlin Naschmarkt at Markthalle IX near Görlitzer Bahnhof in Berlin Kreuzberg. This easter edition was already the second time I paid this slightly different from the norm market place a visit and just like last time, it was quite an event.
I'm generally in love with the common weekly markets. Looking at the lovely flowers, buying fresh vegetables and fruit and meeting people over a coffee while being out in the open is sweet. Doing the same while shopping for handmade and organic candy, cupcakes and chocolates is even sweeter.
The Markthalle IX serves as an ideal hosting location for this sweets market. The old architecture and leftover stands from back in the day give the market a very special atmosphere. The way all the stands are decorating their foods is equally as marvellous and it makes you want to buy everything even though that, of course, is impossible. Sadly.
But I hope I can give you a sweet impression of what this sweets market is like and perhaps, if you are in Berlin the next time, you'll want to visit the Naschmarkt at Markthalle IX as well. It is definitely worth it. You can check out the Markthalle's website and the market's times and dates HERE and their Facebook page HERE.
Have a lovely weekend!!
