Crazy Pattern

Stylight Style Suite 4

Well girls (and boys), finally a "normal" outfit-post again on the blog - you obviously missed those, didn't you?

Is it just my imagination or is it that lately, hardly anybody is commententing on amazing posts like the previous ones anymore? I'm talking about the ones with all the fashion week event coverage or the festival introduction post from two days ago with all the music videos in it - does nobody of you listen to music? Is it not worth commenting in approval or disapproval on a playlist that took me quite a long time to put together, searching for suitable videos and such? Are you only interested in what I'm wearing? And well, doesn't that seem a bit narrow-minded?

For your interest, I don't intend to run this blog as an outfit-only-blog and actually, I never did. Posing for and posting about outfits is nice and sometimes even fun, but in the long run, it's just not enough, don't you agree?
So what I'm trying to do with this blog is mix the fashion and outfit-aspects with elements that are more of my personal interest. I want to create a broader, bigger universe around the things I like as I'm already trying to. And if nobody comments on those posts, so be it. I'm not forcing anybody to engage in conversations with me, but isn't it a pity that by not commenting on a playlist post like the previous one, we miss out on a great music conversation? And how about lifestyle posts? Wouldn't it be nice to provide each other with ideas, trends, hints on where to eat, drink, celebrate as well? I want to learn from all of you as well! And if I see that 1000 people have read my post on the first day but only one person comments, that seems a little strange to me. Don't you even care? I WANT to talk to you all and I NEED to feel your love - at least a little bit, hehe!

I just clicked through some really old posts of mine - less text and only in English, less quality in pictures, still trying to find my own style - BUT sometimes up to a hundred comments below! What happened? Have you also become bored by all the fashion blogging? What exactly is it that has changed in the last 5 years? Is it just the overwhelming amount of fashion bloggers posting their stuff every day? Are you all overfed and tired? Tell me, please!

And while we're at it: do you have any ideas on how to freshen up this whole business and get you, the readers, engaged in fun and interesting conversations again? After all, that is what this blog is about: getting YOU involved! How do you think about that?

...

These pictures were taken during the Stylight Style Suite and my board about this look can be found HERE! The cool skirt is by Topshop by the way - it's one of the nicest skirts I've seen in years! Oh and yes, showing your belly is trending again - first time since the 90s!! "Spice up your life!!"

Was ist passiert?

Was denkt ihr darüber?

...

„Spice up your life!!“

      Alles Liebe!

  2. Can't agree with you more. It's like, the more effort you put in the post, less response you get back, it's so frustrating! I thought it was just me who had that problem with some kind of lazy followers, but I guess not...

They say "Involve your readers", but what if they don't want to be involved? I mean, I get it, someone is here just for the pictures, but still, is there really no interest left, or did we became too damn lazy to even bother letting other know what we think?

    1. I also believe that the more complex the article and the problem that is being discussed, the less interest is there to reply at all because a) people don't read texts at all, b) they don't want to indulge in discussions because they're frankly not interested or c) the usual comment "you are very pretty" doesn't really apply to some posts, so people can't place it there. I don't know, it's just a little frustrating sometimes, but I guess most bloggers have to deal with this problem at the moment.

  3. Geht mir genauso...

  7. Every time I visit your blog I love, not only for inspiring style you have, but precisely because of what you write.
I started my way in the blogging world only a year ago... so I don't know about what advise you to better capture the attention of the readers (I wish I knew!).
But like reader of many blogs, I can tell yes, it's true that in recent years, the blogger phenomenon has expanded and many blogs began to be boring because they don't add anything different... A lot of girls I followed from their beginning have changed a lot and they have lost their "mark of identity". Anyway, that's not the case with you. So, from now, I promise to talk to you more frequently about everything you write, because I usually agree with your thoughts and tastes :)
The bloggers not only must care for your readers, the readers should take care of our bloggers too ;)
    Thousand kisses! And happy Monday!

    1. It is indeed so that many bloggers seem a lot like walking mannequins these days, sunbathing in the hype for a year or so before someone new appears. I don't know, I'm just a lot more down to earth, seeing blogging as my hobby as well as my job and I just write what I love. And about the topics that interest me. And I work with brands that interest me because I need to earn some money as well - many people forget that a blogger needs to eat and live, too.
I think over time, people will grow along with the "old" bloggers and we will all change for better or for worse (let's hope for better), always trying to be more professional but always very personal as well. It's a fine line between those two and I think that's the trickiest part about blogging, really.

Babyshambles are perfect!! Can't wait to see Pete next weekend!!! :D

  8. I hardly ever comment, but I'm an avid reader! This is actually something I have read other bloggers say. I dunno, I for one am mostly interested in the outfits, events like fashion week or collection viewings don't really interest me. As for the music, I mostly read blogs in my in-between-time, so listening to everything takes a bit too long ...

    1. As I said before, I think many many many readers come here mainly for the outfits. It's just that over time, I want to post outfits much less and post about other things, like travelling, music, poetry a lot more. I think at some point posting outfits just isn't enough anymore to keep myself satisfied with the work I have put into this blog. And again, I think a personal view on a fashion week collection is just SO much more interesting than an anonymous write-up over at InStyle or whatever. That's why I really like posting about collections sometimes - giving my personal opinion and trying to get you all involved in a discussion about this opinion and your own!

  9. Cooool skirt!

Unfortunately many people even don't read any text, but it's something that we have also to accept. Not everybody looks for the same things while surfing through the different blogs. That's what there are. We can like it or dislike it. ;)

I invite you to comment my posts too.

Don't miss today my Comfy & Chic look....with amazing Coco&Raffia wedges and bag!!!.

    1. It is true, many people don't read texts. I do and I always find it sad when people don't write anything to accompany their outfits. I unfollowed all of those blogs and only follow them on Instagram now because whatever, I don't need to see their blogs if they only post pictures, Instagram is enough. But I love writing and I just hope that over time, some of my readers will feel the same way and follow along on my journey to make this blog more satisfying for myself and hopefully, some others, too!

I'll check out your post of course ;)

  10. It's refreshing to see an honest post like this. I stumbled across your blog a few months past and visit it now and again, so I am not qualified to answer your questions as I think your Followers from way back when will be able to fill you in better. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts that are not solely about what you are wearing and tell more about your character/personality. By no means am I a blogging pro, but its my opinion that often there isn't a clear line between good content and comments. I have seen poorly written posts with spelling mistakes etc, but then showing a lovely slim girl with 'cool clothes' and seen hundreds of comments saying stuff like You are beautiful! You are cool! I love your hair!- and of course this is great, but hardly a conversation starter. And as you said that is really what blogging is all about/should be all about- meaningful interaction not just trite flattery. Ok, I will end my book here!

    1. Yes! Thank you! Anyway, I'm not looking for comments like "you are so pretty" or "I love your hair", which is why I'm trying to write my little stories along the outfit posts. It's just something I like to do to get people involved - if only they'd read my texts! But okay, people are very different, so who am I to judge? I just want people to appreciate quality posting where they see it and as I'm always trying to get better and better doing what I'm doing, I just need the feedback in oder to be able to change myself and to provide even more suitable content for my readers and myself alike.

  11. Personally, I love your your blog cause it's a slice of life from a fashionable girl living in Germany! Great to see how style differs from where I am in Los Angeles. I'm not so intererested in fashion show stuff, but love your posts about your outfits, travel and Berlin! Can't wait to see your next edition of Berlin fav places!

  16. the previous post was very boring, for me; I don't like sponsored posts, that's not your life, that's; a firm invites you to be at their event and you go there, nothing exciting and nothing to see. that's why many people did not comment. And you, are you commenting on other blogs ? I won't give my name but I've been commenting on your blog for so long and you've never returned back to my blog or even checked and left a message, so why are you expecting this from other people ? you are not a superstar, you are a blogger just like us, just like any of us !

  17. In this context I am interested in outfit posts and nothing more. In fact, if there is no way to follow just your outfit posts I will no longer be able to follow you, because the list of blogs I am following is too long so I feel compelled to delete any blog not having an outfits-only feed.
