5 Cities, 5 Outfits

"All around the world, you've gotta spread the word..."

It is time! This weekend I'll be off travelling again and you have no idea how much I've missed it. It's been 2 months but it feels like an eternity to me. Travelling is something I've always done ever since my university years. I've basically seen the whole of Europe, met unbelievably fantastic people, ate the most wonderful food and walked the most beautiful streets. Travelling is precious to me, to say the least.

When travelling as a fashion-conscious person, packing a suitcase is always a challenge. What do I want to wear? What will the weather be like? How many outfits do I need? How will I fit all my lenses inside my suitcase? Well...

A good idea is always to pack finished outfits. Top, bottom and accessories like a bag and shoes as well as the jewelry should always be coordinated BEFORE travelling. It makes things much easier and leaves space in your head for other things. It is also a good idea to take ONE handbag or clutch that suits most outfits and only two or three pairs of heels. Maybe a white and a black pair. In any case, make sure that NO MATTER WHAT, you also take a pair of comfy shoes and an umbrella. Just in case. Especially in northern Europe, you just never know.

Because I'm looking forward to travelling again so much, I felt inspired to create a couple of outfits for some of my favourite cities in Europe that I'll soon be visiting again. When browsing through MY-WARDROBE's online shop, I found so many items I'd immediately wear for my holidays, so I arranged them in outfits for your pleasure. I really hope you like them!

Es ist soweit! Dieses Wochenende geht es endlich wieder ans Reisen und ihr habt ja keine Ahnung, wie sehr ich das vermisst habe. Es ist 2 Monate her seit meiner letzten Reise, aber für mich fühlt es sich wie eine Ewigkeit an. Verreisen ist etwas, das ich schon immer geliebt habe, seit meiner Unizeit. Ich habe im Grunde ganz Europa gesehen, die unglaublichsten Menschen kennen gelernt, das allerbeste Essen gegessen und bin die schönsten Straßen entlanggelaufen. Reisen ist etwas ganz Besonderes für mich, um es mal milde auszudrücken.

Wenn man als modebewusste Frau reist, ist das Kofferpacken immer auch ein bisschen kompliziert. Was möchte ich anziehen? Wie wird das Wetter? Wie viele Outfits brauche ich? Wie sollen meine Objektive alle in die Tasche passen? Naja...

Für mich hat es sich bewährt, fertige Outfits einzupacken. Oberteil, Unterteil und Accessoires wie eine Tasche, Schuhe und auch der Schmuck sollten schon VOR der Reise koordiniert werden. Das erspart einem einiges an Schwierigkeiten und ihr habt den Kopf frei für andere Dinge. Es ist auch praktisch, wenn man EINE Handtasche oder Clutch hat, die zu allen Outfits passt und vielleicht zwei oder drei Paar hohe Schuhe. Ein weißes und ein schwarzes Paar haben sich bei mir als praktisch erwiesen. In jedem Fall solltet ihr aber auch UNBEDINGT ein Paar ganz bequeme Schuhe zum Wechseln und einen Regenschirm dabei haben. Einfach zur Sicherheit. In Nordeuropa weiß man schließlich nie.

Weil ich mich so sehr auf das Reisen freue, habe ich mir inspiriert gefühlt, ein paar Outfits für einige meiner liebsten europäischen Städte, die ich bald wieder bereisen werde, zusammen zu stellen. Black & White

On the hunt for the new Spring/Summer 2013 fashion trends, I clicked through the pages at LUISAVIAROMA.COM and suddenly got reminded of a game old men like to play at the train stations in Budapest and Belgrade: chess! Do you know how to play chess? Honestly, I don't and and I'm not a very strategic person so it probably isn't for me. But I suppose, wearing a chessboard on myself would be an exception I am willing to make.

Honestly, though, how absolutely stunning is the Spring/Summer 2013 women's collection by Balmain? I am in love with every single leather jacket and adore the bold black and white styles mixed with baroque lace details. If I could, I would wear any of the below looks on the street, never minding the weirded-out people probably thinking "WTF, did a chess board just pass me by?".

If you want to shop this funky black and white fashion trend, here you can find BALMAIN CLOTHING on LVR or wait until the likes of Zara and H&M start copying the chessboard trend (because naturally, they will).

Auf der Jagd nach den modischen Trends für Frühjahr/Sommer 2013, als ich mich gemütlich durch die Seiten auf LUISAVIAROMA.COM clickte, wurde ich plötzlich an ein Spiel erinnert, dass alte Männer gern am Hauptbahnhof von Budapest und Belgrad spielen: Schach! Könnt ihr Schach spielen? Ehrlich gesagt kann ich es nicht und da ich nun leider auch nicht die aller logischste Person aller Zeiten bin, ist das wohl kein Spiel für mich. Aber ich denke, ein Schachbrett am Körper zu tragen, das wäre eine Ausnahme, die ich machen würde.

Aber nun mal ehrlich, wie absolut beeindruckend ist die Frühling/Sommer 2013 Damenkollektion von Balmain? Ich liebe wirklich jede einzelne der Lederjacken und bin verrückt nach den schwarz-weißen Styles, die clever mit weißen Barockmustern verziert wurden. Wenn ich könnte, würde ich jeden der Looks, die ich unten zusammen gestellt habe, auf der Straße tragen. Da wäre es mir auch egal, wenn die Leute sich sich verdutzt fragen würden "WTF, ist da grad ein Schachbrett an mir vorbei gelaufen?".

Wenn ihr diesen witzigen Schwarz-und-Weiß-Trend shoppen wollt, könnt ihr BALMAIN KLEIDUNG auf LVR finden oder warten, bis Zara, H&H und co. anfangen, den Schachbrett-Trend zu kopieren (denn das werden sie natürlich tun).

Both vertically and horizontally, I've created outfits that, in this first Sudoku, are my must haves for spring 2013. I still want to wear bold colours like yellow and blue but mix them with nudes and metallics.
I love the contrast and I think that a little hint of colour in an otherwise very simple, feminine and elegant outfit adds just about the right amount of quirkiness and fun to the ensemble. After all, styling should be all about fun, right?

Vertikal wie auch horizontal habe ich hier Outfits kreiert, die, in diesem ersten Sudoku, meine absoluten Must-Haves für das Frühjar 2013 sind. Ich möchte immer noch auffällige Farben wie Gelb und Blau tragen und sie mit Beigetönen und metallischen Details mixen.
Ich liebe diesen Kontrast und denke, dass eine Idee Farbe in einem ansonsten eher schlicht femininen und eleganten Outfit genau die richtige Prise Verspieltheit und Spaß in das Ensemble einstreut. Schließlich zählt beim Styling ja vor allem der Spaß, stimmt's?

This second Sudoku I've made is all about the things I would love to wear right now as it's still winter and I just can't help but still longing for black and burgundy shades in my outfits all the time.
Prints, lace, leather, fur and studs are just too nice to be abandoned just yet and because I know I won't like them much anymore once the first warm rays of sunshine start tickling my nose, I feel like celebrating them for as long as I can. Are you celebrating along?

Fier Showroom

Today I want to present the label Miryaki, a fashion label from Italy which was founded in 2009 by designers Mia Vilardo and Riccardo Polidoro who got to know each other in Milan during their studies.

The Miryaki S/S 2013 lookbook caught my eye in one of my futile attempts to escape winter by allowing my mind to wander through colours and shapes of pure warmth and excitement. This is what this lookbook is to me: a slightly psychedelic explosion of kaleidoscopic shapes and distant ideas of flowers on wavy and swirly, yet never too girly fabric. Wonderful!

In case I've woken your curiosity, you can discover the most recent collection of Miryaki at Fier Showroom A/W 2013/14 during Berlin Fashion Week next week. It's an offsite event and it will definitely be worth the visit.

Heute möchte ich euch das Label Miryaki vorstellen, ein Modelabel aus Italien, das 2009 von den Designern Mia Vilardo und Riccardo Polidoro gegründet wurde, die sich während ihres Studiums kennen gelernt hatten.

Das Lookbook für S/S 2013 fiel mir in die Hände, als ich gerade einmal wieder während einer meiner hoffnungslosen Versuche, dem Winter zu entkommen, in meinen Gedanken durch Farben und Formen reinster Wärme und positiver Spannung wanderte. Denn genau das ist es, was dieses Lookbook für mich darstellt: eine leicht psychedelische Explosion kaleidoskopartiger Formen und entfernten Erinnerungen an Blüten auf leicht wehenden, doch niemals zu mädchenhaften Stoffen. Wundervoll!

Holiday Outfits

I've been browsing around MyWardrobe lately, checking the sales and putting together a couple of outfits for the holiday season.
In order to prevent panic and untidy bedrooms, it's always great to know in advance what to wear to certain events. There is the inevitable office party, the family Christmas dinner, the holiday cocktails and of course, New Year's Eve!
So I thought I'd give you some ideas on what you could wear for these occasions. For my part, I'd love to turn up to these events in these outfits - if only I were a rich girl, haha! But I'm sure that cheaper versions of the same items can be found all over the web.

Als ich mich vor Kurzem ein wenig bei MyWardrobe umgeschaut habe, nicht zu vergessen wegen des Schlussverkaufes, habe ich mir gedacht, ich könnte ja einmal ein paar Outfits für die Feiertage zusammenstellen.
Um Panik und Unordnung im Schlafzimmer zu vermeiden, ist es immer gut, schon vorher zu wissen, was man zu bestimmten Veranstaltungen anziehen wird. Da ist zum Beispiel die unvermeidliche Weihnachtsfeier auf der Arbeit, das familiäre Weihnachtsdinner, Festtags-Cocktails und dann natürlich Silvester!
Aus diesem Grund möchte ich euch hier ein paar Inspirationen geben, was man zu diesen Events tragen könnte. Ich persönlich würde genau diese Outfits zu genannten Gelegenheiten anziehen - wenn ich denn nur genug Geld hätte, haha! Aber günstigere Varianten der gezeigten Kleidungsstücke finden sich sicher überall im Internet.

This Christmas, I've teamed up with House of Fraser to find a solution to one of the biggest problems a girl can have: Finding Christmas presents for him (who's basically got everything already!)
Since I gave up on finding out which films and television shows he doesn't own already, I decided I should stick to what I can do best and find some nice clothes for the man.
And because most men could really learn quite a lot from some of our favourite TV heroes, this little wishlist doesn't come without a challenge:

While every other blog out there seem to be posting the very same pictures of the very same collections all the time, I decided to present you something fresh, new and perhaps not as widely known. Today, you'll learn about the A/W 2012/13 lookbook by WOLF. by Sofie Claes.
I discovered the label WOLF. by Sofie Claes via the amazing Konzept86, a store in Berlin Kreuzberg where you can find fantastic designer's clothes from new and up-and-coming designers! If you are in Berlin, this is also where you can buy some of the items from this lookbook!

I adore this collection. It has everything I want: jersey and leather mash-ups, sporty and chic styles and a lot of interesting symmetrical as well as asymmetrical shapes. I would honestly wear every single piece of this collection!
The hints of burgundy in a generally monotone collection provides just about the right amount of colour you need in A/W. Really, such a great and on-the-spot collection, I'm hooked!

Während auf den anderen Blogs scheinbar immer nur die gleichen Bilder von immer den gleichen Designern gepostet werden, dachte ich mir, ich präsentiere euch einmal etwas frisches, neues und vielleicht nicht ganz so bekanntes. Heute mache ich euch mit dem A/W 2012/13 Lookbook von WOLF. by Sofie Claes bekannt.
Das Label WOLF. by Sofie Claes habe ich über das geniale Konzept86 entdeckt, ein Laden in Berlin Kreuzberg, wo man die spannendsten neuen Designs von neuen und aufsteigenden Designern finden kann! Wenn ihr also mal in Berlin seid, könnt ihr dort auch viele Teile aus diesem Lookbook kaufen!

Ich bin total begeistert von dieser Kollektion. Sie hat alles, was ich mag: Jersey und Leder, sportlicher und doch schicker Style und viele interessante symmetrische wie auch asymmetrische Formen. Ich würde tatsächlich jedes Teil dieser Kollektion tragen!
Die wenigen dunkelrot gefärbten Teile ergänzen den sonst eher monotonen Look perfekt - mehr Farbe braucht man im Winter nicht! Diese Kollektion ist einfach auf den Punkt und ich bin jetzt ein Fan dieser Designerin!
