YSL Beauté: Passion Red

As observant readers of this blog, over time you must have become aware of the fact that my favourite and most essential beauty products are indeed red lipsticks. I own them in any shade, shape and quality, some for daytime and some for the night, some for work and some for holidays. There is at least one lipstick for any occasion imaginable.
I believe that there are women who can very easily pull of pink or nude lipstick, but I don't count myself among them. Blonde girls with blue eyes, a perfect complexion and full lips are the ones to wear those brighter shades. For myself, dark haired, green-eyed and all that, I prefer the stronger reds, even though I like to dip into the orange side of things as well nowadays.
Anyway, my favourite of all lipstick shades are full, juicy and bold reds - passion red you might say. And because I hardly ever leave my house without red lips, here's an ode to my favourite of all beauty products.

And since YSL Beauté Paris was kind enough to send me a whole bunch of red lipsticks and lipgloss along with a perfect shade of red nail polish, I developed a pretty little photo series presenting these products that I grew very fond of.
The Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks are incredible. They have a creamy texture, are extremely rich of colour pigments and moisturize my lips perfectly. On top of that, they are extremely long lasting (and let me tell you, when I say long lasting, I mean lasting dinner, drinks, snacks and more!) and come in all sorts of shades. As someone who constantly wears red listick, I am really glad that such products exist. At my consumption rate, cheap lipsticks would kill my lips in no time.

Als aufmerksame Leser dieses Blogs müsste euch mittlerweile aufgefallen sein, dass mein allerliebstes Beauty-Produkt tatsächlich rote Lippenstifte sind. Ich besitze rote Lippenstifte in jedem Farbton, in jeder Form und Qualität, manche für Tagsüber, manche für die Nacht, manche für die Arbeit und manche für die Freizeit. Es gibt bei mir mindestens einen Lippenstift für jede nur vorstellbare Gelegenheit.
Ich glaube, es gibt Frauen, die sehr schön rosa- oder beigefarbenen Lippenstift tragen können, aber ich zähle mich nicht dazu. Blonde Mädchen mit blauen Augen, heller Haut und vollen Lippen können diese hellen Töne so schön tragen. Für mich selbst mit meinen dunklen Haaren und den grünen Augen finde ich satte, starke Rottöne schon immer schöner, obwohl ich momentan auch gerne mal zum Orange hin tendiere.
Jedenfalls sind meine liebsten Lippenstift-Farbtöne jene vollen, starken und auffälligen Rottöne, die ihr hier auch wieder sehen könnt. Und weil ich nur sehr selten das Hause ohne rote Lippen verlasse, gibt es heute eine Ode an mein liebstes aller Beauty-Produkte.

Da mir YSL Beauté Paris gleich eine ganze Kiste mit Lippenstiften, Lipgloss und dazu noch einem genialen, knallig-roten Nagellack zur Verfügung stellte, habe ich eine kleine Fotoserie mit diesen Produkten entwickelt, die mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen sind.
Yves Saint Laurent Lippenstifte sind nämlich wirklich unglaublich toll. Sie haben diese cremige Textur, sind extrem reich an Farbpigmenten und spenden genau die richtige Menge Feuchtigkeit, um meine Lippen weich und geschmeidig zu halten. Darüber hinaus sind sie sehe langanhaltend (und glaubt mir, wenn ich langanhaltend meine, dann bedeutet das weit über Trinken, Abendessen und Snacks hinaus!) und es gibt sie in allen nur vorstellbaren Farbtönen. Als jemand, der wirklich ständig Lippenstift trägt, bin ich doch sehr froh, dass es solch gute Produkte auf dem Markt gibt. Günstigere Lippenstifte greifen bei meinem übermäßigen Konsum die Lippen schon sehr stark an.

Video: Hair Routine

"I love mint... even on my hair!"

Finally, and I must say I feel the shame all the way down to my bones, I managed to record the little hair routine video I've promised you all a hundred years ago! God only knows why it took me so long, BUT now I had a very good reason to finally make this little video: my new and very lovely mint-coloured hairstyler from the new candy collection by ghd! It's such a cute little thing and ideal for travelling because it also doesn't weigh anything! And since I'm too stupid to do anything else with the styler than straighten my hair, I'll show you exactly that.

So this is how I usually style my hair straight for outfit-shoots or nights about town. Just watch the video and tell me what you think!

Endlich, und ich muss sagen, es ist mir ja schon sehr peinlich, habe ich es geschafft, dieses Haarroutine-Video zu drehen, das ich euch schon vor gefühlten hundert Jahren versprochen habe! Gott weiß, warum ich dafür so lange gebraucht habe. ABER jetzt hatte ich auch einen guten Anlass, das Video zu machen: mein neuer und sehr toller mintfarbener Haarstyler aus der neuen Candy Collection von ghd! Er ist so klein und niedlich und einfach ideal zum Reisen, denn er wiegt auch einfach mal nichts! Und weil ich zu doof bin, mit diesen Stylern irgendetwas anderes als Haare glätten zu veranstalten, zeige ich euch einfach genau das.

YSL Beauté - Gold

Gold. The metal and its colour have always fascinated me but it was only in the past couple of years that I started to enjoy wearing it on my body as well. I own more golden than silver jewelry nowadays whereas I used to only wear silver necklaces, rings and bracelets before. I can't really put my finger on the reason for this, but perhaps I'm becoming a granny soon. They sure love their golden jewelry, don't they?
Today I won't talk about jewelry, though. Today I want to talk about beauty again. Follow along to read and find out which products from Yves Saint Laurent's beauty line "OR" (French for gold) I've fallen in love with...

Gold. Das Metall und seine Farbe haben mich schon immer fasziniert. Doch erst in den letzten Jahren habe ich begonnen, es auch an meinem Körper zu tragen. Ich besitze mehr goldenen als silbernen Schmuck obwohl ich früher nur silberne Ketten, Ringe und Armbänder tragen mochte. Ich weiß nicht, warum das so ist, aber vielleicht werde ich ja bald eine Omi. Die lieben doch ihren Goldschmuck so, oder?
Heute möchte ich aber gar nicht über Schmuck sprechen. Heute soll es endlich mal wieder um Beauty gehen. Lest also weiter um herauszufinden, welche Produkte aus der Beautyline "OR" (französisch für Gold) von Yves Saint Laurent es mir besonders angetan haben...

The highlighting powder palette is perfect if you want to give your skin a radiant finish on your cheeks. I'm using it when I'm putting on make-up for special occasions when I want my skin to look especially exciting. The top of the case with its crocodile-inspired pattern is an extra eye-catcher of course, but only for yourself. They won't see that on your face.
The golden gloss for your lips and golden nail polish for your hands do of course serve the same purpose. They make you glow and shine the brightest. Even though I'm used to wearing deep red lips most of the time, sometimes the golden gloss on top of a bright pink lip colour is just as wonderful, even if it takes some getting used to from my side.

Die Highlights-setzende Puderpalette ist einfach perfekt, wenn man seiner Haut ein strahlendes Finish verleihen möchte. Auf die Wangen aufgetragen, verwende ich es meistens für besondere Anlässe, wenn meine Haut besonders toll aussehen soll. Die Oberseite der Hülle mit ihrem Krokodilhaut-inspirierten Muster ist dazu noch ein ziemlicher Hingucker für einen selbst. Das sieht natürlich sonst niemand, vor allem nicht im Gesicht.
Das glitzernde Lipgloss und der goldene Nagellack dienen dem gleichen Zweck - heller zu strahlen als alle anderen. Obwohl ich ja daran gewöhnt bin, mir meistens tiefrote Lippen zu schminken, ist es manchmal genau so wunderbar, einfach einmal das glitzernde Gloss über einen rosafarbenen Lippenstift aufzutragen. Gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber einfach klasse!

Before working on all the highlights, however, I usually start by covering the dark shadows under my eyes and next to my nose with the radiant touch highlighter, followed by the perfect illumination foundation by YSL which is not pictured here. It feels light and cool and can even be applied by hand if no sponge is at hand. The foundation gives my skin extra radiance without weighing too heavily on my skin. Just a tad of powder on my nose and chin and I'm finished with the foundation. This usually takes no more than 2 minutes.

Bevor ich allerdings an all den goldenen Highlights arbeiten kann, beginne ich normalerweise damit, die dunklen Stellen unter meinen Augen und neben der Nase mit dem aufhellendem Abdeckstift zu verdecken. Der verleiht meiner Haut auch gleich noch etwas mehr Strahlen. Danach folgt dann stets die aufhellende Foundation von YSL, die sich kühl und leicht auf der Haut anfühlt und sich auch toll mit den Fingern verteilen lässt, wenn mal kein Schwamm zur Hand ist. Davon gibt es hier leider kein Foto. Danach kommt nur noch ein wenig Puder aufs Gesicht und schon ist die Foundation fertig. Das dauert bei mir normalerweise nicht länger als 2 Minuten.

The one thing that's still missing for our perfect radiant golden make-up? The eyes, indeed! A golden touch on the eyes is a must of course, but to give your look depth and drama, the eye-shadow duo provides a darker purple colour as a contrast to the ever so golden look. Just spread the golden eye shadow over the whole lid and work the purple from the outer corner to the inside. It gives your eyes a sweet but sexy cat-eye look that you can underline with liquid eyeliner and faux lash mascara. At least that's what I like to do.

And that's it. You are perfect and finished for a night about town, a red carpet event or a romantic dinner with your man.

Das Einzige, was für unser perfekt strahlend goldenes Make-Up nun noch fehlt? Die Augen, ja klar! Ein wenig Gold auf die Augen ist natürlich ein Muss, aber um eurem Ausdruck noch Tiefe und ein wenig Drama zu verleihen, gibt es im Eye-Shadow Duo noch ein dunkles Lila als Kontrastfarbe. Einfach den goldenen Lidschatten auf dem ganzen Lid verteilen und dann mit dem Lila vom äußeren Augenwinkel nach innen arbeiten. Das verleiht den Augen einen hübsch-sexy Cat-Eye Look, denn ihr noch mit flüssigem Lidstrich und falsche-Wimpern-look-Mascara unterstreichen könnt. Das mache ich jedenfalls immer.

Und das war's. Ihr seid perfekt und bereit zum Ausgehen, zum Event oder für ein romantisches Dinner zu zweit.

I love...?

Some people love this day called Valentine's Day and some really loathe it. Of course, we could all just as mutually celebrate the day of the pancake, but as it is, Valentine's Day is just a little more popular (I don't know why exactly, because pancakes are brilliant) so I'll take today as a means to thank everyone and everything I really love.

A while ago, Puig, a fashion and frangrance business from Barcelona, send me a little package of fragrance miniatures and this inspired me to a little seance of putting the pretty bottles into the right light in order to offer you some inspiration for a romantic afternoon with your beloved one(s)
How will you spend today? Romantic dinner with the boyfriend, movies with your best friend or nothing at all? I am working long hours today, so my Valentine's day will be about 3 hours of relaxing at the end of the day - but that's going to be really nice!

Manche Menschen lieben diesen Tag, der sich Valentinstag nennt und manche können damit so rein gar nichts anfangen. Natürlich könnten wir alle auch genau so gut den Tag des Pfannkuchens feiern, aber wie es nunmal so ist, ist der Valentinstag ein klein wenig beliebter (was ich nicht wirklich verstehe, denn Pfannkuchen sind klasse), doch so werde ich diesen Tag zum Anlass nehmen, allem und jedem, den ich liebe, zu danken.

Vor einer Weile habe ich von Puig, einem Mode- und Parfümgeschäft aus Barcelona, ein Paket mit vielen Parfüm-Miniaturen bekommen. Das hat mich dazu inspiriert, eine kleine Séance mit meinen schönsten Parfümfläschchen zu veranstalten und zu fotografieren, als Inspiration für einen romantischen Nachmittag mit euren Liebsten.
Wie werdet ihr den heutigen Tag zubringen? Ein romantisches Abendessen mit dem Freund, ins Kino mit der besten Freundin oder nichts von alledem? Ich selbst werde heute lange arbeiten, weshalb sich mein Valentinstag auf drei Stunden Entspannung am Abend beschränken wird. Aber das wird richtig schön!

Today I want to show you some things that quite recently have come into my possession. I love these little item posts somehow. Firstly, because I really enjoy photographing accessories and little things, putting them into a nice light and all that. Secondly, because it gives me a decent overview of all the things I've acquired recently so that I won't buy too much of the same kind in the near future, haha. You gotta draw the line somewhere, right?

Heute möchte ich euch mal wieder ein paar Dinge zeigen, die in letzter Zeit in meinen Besitz gewandert sind. Ich mag diese kleinen Posts irgendwie. Erstmal, weil ich wirklich gerne Accessoires und kleine Dinge fotografiere, sie ins rechte Licht rücke und all das. Außerdem ist das auch gut für mich, weil ich dann einen Überblick darüber behalte, was ich mir alles so zugelegt habe. Man muss ja irgendwo auch die Grenze ziehen, nicht wahr?
