Barcelona Summer Feeling

Even though I'm currently in bed with a fever and a really bad flu; even though I'm missing a special someone a lot and even though autumn is coming all too soon (I've really noticed again this year that I'm SUCH a summer person!), these pictures from our trip to Spain with Stradivarius really keep my heart warm and happy for just a bit longer. Sun, summer and a relaxing Yoga-session with Rituals cosmetics on a Catamaran before Barcelona - we truly had a great time! Not to forget our drive around the city with a couple of Mini-cars - so much fun! More pictures and musings about my trip soon - for now, wish me health!!

Obwohl ich momentan mit Fieber und Erkältung im Bett liege; obwohl ich jemand bestimmtes ganz arg vermisse und obwohl der Herbst schon wieder da ist (ich bin ja echt der absolute Sommermensch!), wärmen diese Bilder von unserer Reise nach Spanien mit Stradivarius mein Herz und meine Seele, obwohl der Trip schon wieder eine Woche her ist. Sommer, Sonne und eine entspannende Yoga-Session mit Rituals Cosmetics auf einem Catamaran vor Barcelona - wir hatten echt viel Spaß! Und nicht zu vergessen unsere Stadtrundfahrt mit einer ganzen Reihe von Minis! Viel Spaß mit den Bildern, mehr über meine Reise gibt es bald. Aber jetzt wünscht mir erstmal gute Besserung!

Re-Thinking Heels

"I'm short on money but I'm long on time..."

Shoes, especially the really pretty ones, are probably every girl's most favourite obsession. We can't really grab it but it's always been there. Our great-grandmothers loved shoes and our daughters still will. And it'll always be fun to swoon over a new "must-have" pair. But does it always have to be a "new pair of shoes to make everything feel right" like Paolo Nutini sings in his song? I wanted to prove that simple, old or just plain pairs of heels can very easily be turned into something truly fantastic - almost like a piece of art. But always with the requirement that they still be wearable. This is what I wanted to prove with four pairs of shoes I designed and created over the past few months.
My inspiration? Shoes with bunny-figurines instead of heels that I discovered in London in May. My aspiration? Re-thinking what shoes mean to us girls and re-designing old pairs of heels. My interpretation? A modern belle-epoque picnic in the park, a little magic, beautiful girls and incredible (and probably very tasty) shoe-designs!

Schuhe, besonders die ganz hübschen, sind wahrscheinlich die liebste Obsession jedes Mädchens. Wir können es nicht wirklich erklären oder verstehen, aber es war schon immer so. Unsere Urgroßmütter liebten ihre Schuhe und unseren Töchtern wird es noch genau so gehen. Und es wird schlichtweg immer Spaß machen, vom neuen "Must-Have" Paar zu träumen. Aber muss es immer das "neue Paar Schuhe sein, damit sich alles wieder richtig anfühlt", wie Paolo Nutini in seinem Liedchen trällert? Ich möchte hier und heute beweisen, dass einfache, alte oder auch nur schlichte Schuhe ganz einfach in etwas ganz fantastisches verwandelt werden können - in fast so etwas wie Kunst, aber immer mit dem Anspruch, dass es noch tragbar sein muss. Das möchte ich euch mit meinen vier Paar High Heels, die ich über die letzten Monate designt und hergestellt habe, nun zeigen.
Meine Inspiration? Schuhe mit Häschenfiguren Anstelle der Absätze, die ich im Mai in London entdeckt hatte. Mein Anspruch? Neu ansetzen und überlegen, was Schuhe für uns Mädchen bedeuten und daraus alte Schuhe neu entdecken und designen. Meine Interpretation? Ein modernes Belle-Epoque Picknick im Park, ein bisschen Magie, hübsche Mädchen und unglaublich schöne (und bestimmt auch sehr schmackhafte) Schuhdesigns.
Meine Bewerbung für den Deichmann Shoe Step Of The Year 2013 schnappt sich das Thema DIY und geht damit einen Schritt weiter - und ich hoffe, euch gefällt diese kleine Fotoserie!

Postcards From Prague

While I'm perfectly aware that nobody will be reading this article today, I'm publishing it nonetheless. Of course, the weather is just too great and all of you will be out and about, enjoying the first ice cream in the café down the road or taking the first walk in the park, counting all the daffodils. Lovely, you should do that, I'm not expecting you to stay inside just because of me.
And well, if you are reading this right now: what the hell are you doing inside? Come back tonight and read my lovely little post then, hehe.

Because you should indeed have a look at the pictures I'm showing you today. And if not now, then later (or I will bite you, arrr!) These are some of my Prague impressions I've collected during our visit there. Of course it is only a glimpse of what I could discover there, so I can only repeat myself here: do visit Prague, really! It's so absolutely worth it!

Obwohl ich ganz genau weiß, dass niemand diesen Artikel jetzt lesen wird, veröffentliche ich ihn trotzdem. Natürlich ist keiner im Netz an so einem traumhaften Tag, an dem man besser das erste Eis im Lieblingscafé genießt oder den ersten Spaziergang im Park unternimmt. Wunderbar, das solltet ihr auch tun! Ich erwarte schließlich nicht, dass ihr nur wegen mir im dunklen Kämmerlein bleibt.
Und tja, wenn ihr das doch gerade lest: Maaan, was macht ihr drinnen? Kommt heute Abend wieder und lest meinen kleinen Artikel dann, hehe.

Denn ihr solltet ihn euch wirklich einmal ansehen. Und wenn nicht jetzt, dann später (oder ich beiße euch, arrr!) Das hier sind nämlich noch ein paar Impressionen, die ich während unseres Aufenthaltes in Prag gesammelt habe. Natürlich ist das nur ein klitzekleiner Ausschnitt dessen, was ich dort alles entdeckt habe, deshalb kann ich mich auch nur wiederholen: besucht wirklich einmal Prag! Es ist die Reise absolut Wert!
