London Love

londonsnaps12

My dearies, almost a month has passed since my last trip to London, time is moving oh so fast, I feel like I'm a Time Lord almost! Going to London for a week is never enough, though. Even a month wouldn't be enough, so many things to do and to see. But my sister and I made the most of our seven days in the city and well, we did have a perfect time! Here are some snaps and words on what we did (and who we met, wahoo!). Enjoy!

Perhaps THE main reason we went to London in the first place were the Arqiva BAFTA Television Awards 2013. We walked on the red carpet (in the pouring-pouring rain, but that didn't stop Martin Freeman to bring out all that swag in him, hehe), met some Daleks, ate some yummy chocolate BAFTAs and had a wonderful time watching the awards ceremony hosted by the marvellous Graham Norton (funniest man to walk this earth!). My personal highlight, however, was the sweet Ben Whishaw. When he was announced as the winner of the "Leading Actor" category, he simply couldn't believe it. His shaky and absolutely overwhelmed acceptance speech was even more awkward and even more adorable than anything I'd ever seen! I can't even describe the sweetness of this moment (and I was there!), so you better look at his speech in video below, I promise it'll make you smile, too!

London and sweet treats belong together like Berlin and horrible bus drivers. Before starting to eat completely vegan (and I've been doing it successfully for the last three weeks with no intention of stopping anytime soon), I took London as an excuse to indulge in a major sugar shock. So I mainly ate cakes, chocolates and cookies, but I also enjoyed some yummy Eggs Benedict and porridge for breakfast. Lovely, just lovely! But I must say, since I've become a vegan, I haven't had a day when I missed milk chocolate! Great, huh?

One major fashion trend I have picked up in London this time is to go crazy with your heels! No matter if you looked at Topshop or the small shops in Camden Town, everywhere the shoes started growing flowers, dolls, cherries or bunnies instead of heels! How perfect is this? I loved the idea and absorbed it in order to start my own project. Just wait a bit longer, I'll soon show you how I adopted these brilliant ideas...

And now the icing on the BAFTA-story cake! A day after the BAFTA TV awards, we went to see Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw in Paul Logan's play "Peter and Alice" at the Noel Coward Theatre. It was a marvellous play about two grown ups who meet in a library and find out that they are the real people who inspired the main characters of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. They start talking and by that, they dig up things that had better be left in the past. It is a very sad but truly beautiful story and we were so happy that we went to see it after all. We also went to see "The Tempest" at Shakespeare's Globe a few days earlier, so loads of theatre and culture this time around!

Anyway, after "Peter and Alice", we popped 'round the stage door and indeed, after a few minutes, Ben Whishaw came out and spend a ridiculously long time signing for his fans, taking pictures and talking to everyone. He was so so soo shy, modest and thankful for everyone who was being extremely kind to him. I congratulated him on his BAFTA and his wonderful performance in "Peter and Alice" and he literally didn't stop thanking me. Such a humble and beautiful person. His boyfriend/husband is a very lucky man indeed, hehe.

Instagram Best Of February

Instagram Diary February CATS & DOGS fashion style blog 6

And it's been yet another month (a pretty short one as well I might add). February started with a visit at my parents' place for my mum's birthday. It was a calm and relaxing week and a bit of lovely cake and selfmade pizza.

Afterwards, I went back to Berlin, back to work but also back to a lovely little iPhone case by Michael Kors that waited for me when I returned. Lovely.

I need to cut back on the sweets from now on, but in February I made a little exception for the new Milka and some birthday cake at work.

Some people at Starbucks do understand my name. Others... don't. Well, I got a new name, that's nice. Call me Caro.

I've been creative again. And I love my cozy jogging pants by YUMI that I constantly wear at work because they're so comfy.

Instagram Best Of January

It's been yet another month! Everytime I do these monthly Instagram recaps, I can't believe how fast time goes by!
Well, nonetheless, let's start with something sweet and then let's see what happened to me in this fantastic month of January 2013.

2fashionweekinsta
Of course, January was the month of Berlin Fashion Week. I had a great time, met lovely people and posted about my favourite shows on the blog. You might have seen the posts already, but if you haven't, you can always use my search box in the sidebar and look up "fashion week".

5pressandmoviesinsta
It was also the month that PR agencies really started to use my real-life post box to fill me up on their recent lookbooks, send me personalised letters and send me lovely goodies. Thank you so much! I also saw a great flick, the best movie since "Skyfall": "Django Unchained"! Go watch it if you haven't, yet. Christoph Waltz is fabulous in it.

6madridpart1insta
Then, you might have seen the posts, I was invited to Madrid by C&A for the #reimagine design challenge. I, again, had a wonderful time with my favourite blogger girls like Alice and Chloe.

7madridpart2insta
The dinner and breakfast in Madrid was wonderful. So was the flight back to Berlin over the snowy mountains of Switzerland.

8lovelythingsinsta
I received a couple of fantastic goodies from ohhAndy.com and Miista. Thanks again, gals and boys! And I've hung out at some of my favourite Berlin places: Gendarmenmarkt and the best English Café "East London".

1healthyfoodinsta
Before my stomach got all messed up (which it still is, ugh!), I ate and drank some lovely, healthy things and even cooked all by myself again! Loved that!

9familyholidaysinsta
And finally, I'm taking a break from everything right now with my parents in Hannover. I visited the Hobbit-hole I built 12 years ago and it still stands and finally have enough time for some reading and writing again. That makes me so happy!

Follow me on Instagram @catsanddogsblog if you aren't doing so, already. Have a nice week!

Instagram Best Of November

leblog798
Another month has passed and again, the Instagram posts make me realize how incredibly fast the months go by. The year will soon be over and I really can't believe it!
So let's start with a collage of the many faces of Berlin this month... sunny, foggy, snowy - Berlin had it all!

leblog791
I've been trying to be a little creative again in November, painting pictures, drawing sketches, decorating my flat for Christmas time and baking lovely mince pies.

leblog792
Of course, you all know of my coffee addiction by now - November hasn't been any different although I've found another addiction to add to the coffee: mince pies!

leblog795
As you all should've noticed: I've been invited to Paris in November and had a wonderful time at Hotel Amour...

leblog796
... and at the Paco Rabanne Black XS Excessive Session with Ellie Goulding where I met loads of amazing bloggers (and I finally met Tony Stone, wahouuu!!)

leblog797
After Paris, I went to London where I had an equally amazing time. I love London more than any other place in the world!!

leblog799
But soon I had to travel back from my favourite city but the goodbye wasn't so hard because Berlin had been nicely decorated for Christmas as well.

leblog794
And even though this was already in December, I've spend one of the most perfect Sundays of the year with my boyfriend in Berlin, walking over the Christmas market and going to the movies, watching Cloud Atlas, afterwards!

leblog793
And finally, and you've already noticed that as well: I've turned from redhead to brunette again in November and these are my favourite pictures of this month!
