Crocs Boat Trip

Last week, rubber shoe brand Crocs invited us to a little boat trip on the river Spree: a welcome relaxation in between all the fashion week madness! Also, I'd never been on a boat on the Spree before, so before moving to Hamburg, it was one of these things I really wanted to do!
On the boat, Crocs presented their new collection of lightweight rubber shoes (they really have all kinds of types of shoes, I'll show you soon!) and just celebrated with us for hours on the sun sparkling water.
Tasty food and drinks, my lovely blogger colleagues Lina, Franzi and Saskia, happy chatting and a breathtaking sunset on the water were on the menu that evening and I couldn't have hoped for anything better to start off the night.

But Crocs and I have something more in store for you - I'll carry my Crocs to Melt! festival from July 19th to 21st!! How exciting is that? Anyone else going to Melt! this year?? But more about the festival after some pictures of our boat trip...

Letzte Woche lud uns die Gummischuh-marke Crocs zu einer kleinen Bootstour auf der Spree ein: eine wirklich willkommene und entspannende Abwechslung zum Fashion Week Trubel! Außerdem war ich vorher noch nie auf einem Boot auf der Spree gewesen, also wollte ich vor meinem Umzug nach Hamburg diese Chance auf keinen Fall versäumen!
Auf dem Boot präsentierte Crocs die neue Kollektion ihrer superleichten Gummischuhe (aber sie haben wirklich alle möglichen Styles von Schuhen, das werde ich euch bald beweisen!) und feierten einfach stundenlang mit uns auf dem in der Sonne glitzernden Wasser.
Leckeres Essen und Trinken, nette Gespräche mit meinen lieben Bloggerkolleginnen Lina, Franzi und Saskia und ein atemberaubender Sonnenuntergang standen auf der Tagesordnung und ich hätte mir wirklich keinen perfekteren Start in den Abend wünschen können.

Aber Crocs und ich haben noch mehr vor - ich werde vom 19. bis 21. Juli meine Crocs zum Melt! Festival schleppen und von dort für euch berichten! Wie cool ist das bitte? Fährt jemand von euch zufällig auch zum Melt! dieses Jahr? Aber mehr zu dem Festival nach ein paar Bildern zu unserer super Bootstour...

I've already told you how excited I am to be taken to Melt! Festival with Crocs next weekend! Well, let me tell you a little something about the festival, then. Melt! takes places once every year in an incredible area called Ferropolis with its principal attraction being huge machinery from the 20th century. It's located by a lake and in the evening hours, the area looks breathtaking with all the people celebrating and colourful lights shining through all the machines. I hope I can take some great pictures for you while I'm there and let's hope for great weather!

I've taken the time to collect some of the artists I'm looking forward to seeing live most so below you have a little playlist that you might want to check out, even if you are not attending Melt! festival this year!

But anyway, I'm asking again: is any one of you actually going to Melt! as well? We could meet up!!!


Ich habe euch ja schon verraten, wie sehr ich mich freue, dass Crocs mich nächstes Wochenende mit zum Melt! Festival nimmt. Nun, dann lasst mich mal ein kleines bisschen über das Festival erzählen. Das Melt! findet immer einmal im Jahr an einem echt beeindruckenden Ort namens Ferropolis statt. Die größte Attraktion vor Ort sind die vielen Maschinen und Bagger aus dem 20. Jahrhundert, die da einfach als Museumsgegenstände so rumstehen. Außerdem liegt das Festivalgelände an einem See und in den Abendstunden sieht der ganze Ort einfach unfassbar schön aus! Ich hoffe, ich kann vor Ort ein paar schöne Bilder knipsen und bitte lass es schönes Wetter sein!

Ich habe mir außerdem die Zeit genommen, ein paar der Künstler, die auf dem Melt! spielen werden, zusammen zu sammeln und eine kleine Playlist zusammen zu stellen. Vielleicht wollt ihr euch ja mal was anhören, das lohnt sich auch, wenn ihr nicht zum Melt! fahrt!

Aber ich frage trotzdem nochmal nach: fährt jemand von euch vielleicht auch zum Melt! dieses Jahr? Wenn ja, könnte man sich ja mal treffen!!!

10 Songs About Winter

Well, my unconditional love for classic rock and any kind of independent guitar music has been made clear for many editions of the "10 Songs"-Category over the past couple of months. This time, the topic is Winter and first and foremost those post- or non-holiday winter songs that have nothing, not in the merest, to do with Christmas. Naturally, this doesn't give much room for choice, but I think my collection definitely includes 10 of the bestest non-Christmas winter songs of all time! Which one is your favourite? What else would you have added?

The pictures were taken in Volkspark Hasenheide quite a while ago. The drug dealers weren't too happy about me staggering about their bushes in order to take pictures of little plants. I guess they were afraid I would take photograph their drug-hideaways. Well, of course I didn't, haha.

Nun, meine uneingeschränkte Liebe für Classic Rock und Independent Gitarrenmusik hat sich in den letzten Ausgaben der "10 Songs"-Kategorie ja bereits manifestiert. Dieses mal habe ich mir das Thema Winter vorgeknüpft und dabei darauf geachtet, dass sich auch ja keine feierlich-Weihnachtlichen Songs daruntermogeln. Hier findet ihr also nur Lieder, die zwar vom Winter, aber auf gar keinen Fall von Weihnachten handeln. Das hat zwar die Auswahl relativ eingeschränkt, aber ich denke doch, dass meine Kollektion 10 der bestesten nicht-Weihnachts-Winterlieder aller Zeit beinhaltet. Welchen mögt ihr am liebsten? Und welchen hättet ihr noch mit in die Liste genommen?

Die Fotos habe ich im Volkspark Hasenheide geschossen, schon vor einiger Zeit. Die Drogenverkäufer waren nicht so begeistert, dass ich in ihren Gebüschen herumgekrochen bin um kleine Pflänzchen zu fotografieren. Die dachten sicher, ich würde ihre Verstecke ablichten. Habe ich natürlich nicht gemacht, hihi.

Well, here we go again with a playlist that literally goes, dare I say it, right to the heart. Actually, I pretty much dislike most of the all too cheesy love songs that have been cruelly overplayed on the radio. But there are some few songs about everyone's favourite topic - love - that I do, well, love. Mind you, it hasn't been hard to choose these songs!
Oh but one thing I don't mind are cheesy cutesy pictures that depict love, even though in this case in a rather materialistic way. So I'm including some lovely pictures I took the other day with my new camera! Big love!
(And now I've used the word "love" more than often enough for a whole year!)

Heute möchte ich euch einmal wieder eine Playlist präsentieren und diesmal eine, die, ich wage es einmal auszusprechen, direkt ins Herz geht. Ehrlich gesagt bin ich kein großer Freund von Liebesliedern, vor allem nicht von den oft allzu kitschigen, die man sich dank des Radios auch einfach schon übergehört hat. Aber ein paar Lieder, in denen unser aller Lieblingsthema - die Liebe - im Mittelpunkt steht, liebe ich dann doch sehr.
Oh, bei Fotografien geht es mir im Übrigen keineswegs so wie bei den Liebesliedern - auf Fotos darf es ruhig schonmal richtig kitschig und mädchenhaft zugehen. Aus diesem Grund gibt es heute ein paar hübsche, wenn auch wieder einmal sehr materialistische Fotos, die ich vor Kurzem mit meiner neuen Kamera geknipst habe! Ich liebe sie!
(Und nun habe ich das Wort "Liebe" oft genug für ein ganzes Jahr gebraucht!)

10 photos and 10 songs - you're already familiar with this concept that I try to keep reoccurring on my blog every other month.
This time, the pictures were taken by me on a foggy morning when I spontaneously decided to exit the tube at Waterloo to walk up to Westminster before hopping onto the Bakerloo line again.
As you all know, London as my favourite city in the world inspires me a lot and usually on a daily basis. Everything about London is great, yet scary and unpredictable. I like that a lot. And I like London's music scene. No, wait, that's wrong. I ADORE London's music scene with all its millions of songs that have been written about this crazy place. Here you have ten of them, ten of the best!

10 Fotos und 10 Lieder - das Konzept kennt ihr bereits und ich versuche weiterhin, euch jeden Monat mit einer Playlist zu beglücken.
Dieses mal sind die Fotos an einem nebligen Morgen entstanden, als ich mich spontan entschied, bei Waterloo die Tube zu verlassen, bis Westminster zu laufen und von dort wieder in die Bakerloo-Line einzusteigen.

Being able to watch beautiful sunrises is one of the few advantages of living that far up!

You'll probably recognise this category by now if you are a frequent reader of my blog: I took the time to build a playlist again. This time, for obvious reasons, the topic is autumn!
So sit back, enjoy these photographs I took on a nearby cemetery in Kreuzberg quite recently, and get in the mood for that season with all its storms, leaves falling down, grey fog, pumpkin soup, some rain and beautiful orange glowing sunsets.
